I also put up a yummy Stromboli recipe yesterday that you should totally take a look at.
Lets start with… CHINA!
We traveled with some friends and their two girls, our four blond kids attracted quite a bit of attention.
We were hoping to take a train, but its difficult to get tickets… SO… we ended up on a sleeper bus! Let’s just say it was a 10 hour experience that makes a good story, but we probably won’t travel that way again (if we can help it!) Because the boys are small, then LOVED it and slept great.
The week started pretty wet, but the kids had fun. Even if they spent the entire week wet and muddy! This place was called Fir Lake and it was beautiful at night.
We went to see some 500 year old rice terraces that are still being used today.
After the terraces, we visited a natural hotspring.. it was so beautiful and the kids loved it. We steered clear of the 50C pool (122F!!!)
The Li River cruise was a beautiful way to see the mountains.
We stayed at a cute hotel in Yangshou, just outside the town.
The scenery was amazing!
The mountains just pop out of the ground from the flat land…
We hiked up Moon Hill
And biked through the countryside..
We found a little place that served “farmers” food. AMAZING!
A bit of shopping on the main drag…
Tasty food…. and treats!
A night tour to see the ancient Comoran bird fishing technique.
and… I have a few hundred more where those came from, but I’m going to stop here….
I’ve got a couple of craft features as well because I only did food on Saturday…
