Sharpie Teacher Gift Idea

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Sharpie, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia  #StaplesBTS

School starts tomorrow… what??? I can’t hardly believe it!! We are thrilled because my son’s kindergarten teacher is a woman we have known for many years. In fact, I taught her daughter in Middle School when I was a teacher! Fun to see it come full circle. I wanted to make a special teacher gift for her to kick off the school year. Sharpies seem like something that EVERYONE can use, so I made this fun Sharpie Wreath. Fun decoration, then usable later!

I was pleased with how the wreath turned. I had the vision in my head and it came out just like I had hoped…

You will need:

Sharpie Markers {you will need about 40} I got mine at Staples – all Sharpie Fine and Ultra Fine markers and highlighters are currently on sale at Staples… {while supplies last}. Its a great deal for stocking up or making this wreath!

a Cardboard circle- I used a dinner plate to create mine.

Scrapbook paper- to wrap the wreath and print the THANKS sign. You can grab the you can get the free wreath printable here.

First, we need to cover up the cardboard and make it pretty. I chose chevron paper to add a bit of color in the background.  Cut your paper 1 inch bigger on both sides of the cardboard.

Cut the paper along the edge of the curve on the inside and outside of paper. Glue it to the cardboard around the edges of the wreath.

I laid the markers around with the bottoms touching and the tops spread out. I placed them all before I started gluing. Use hot glue to secure the markers to the paper.

Glue something to the back as a hanger. I used some plastic cording. Print the free sign and glue it to the front.

Give to your favorite teacher and watch him/her smile. done!

And there you go! Bright, colorful and ready to hang in your favorite teachers’ classroom. It will look great for awhile, then the markers will be super handy when the wreath is down. A win-win for all. Ok… gear up! Its back to school time! {ahhhhh!}
